Fluid Bodies, like most of my magnetic works, are reflections on posthuman, non-biological or artificial lifeforms. They question the anthropological paradigm towards a much broader horizon of species that this universe eventually will have to offer and how we will cope with the consequences.
FB's are suspended kinetic sculptures with a liquid surface. About one liter of ferrofluid is held and shifted by an array of permanent and electromagnets. While the strong permanent magnets keep the liquid in place even when the power is switched off, the electromagnets modulate the force field, causing the liquid to constantly alter its shape. These are real physical objects and not computer animated.
