Insights into my working philosophy

New technologies and manufacturing processes are the main resource for the progress of innovation. Those innovations can only be achieved via scientific and artistic research. Collaboration with experts from different fields is essential for progress. Sharing knowledge among other professionals is fundamental for a common evolution. If applied properly, all materials have the same architectural & artistic value, regardless of their commercial price. Preference is given to materials and manufacturing processes that are advantageous towards their CO2 footprint and health values, especially favoured by locally available products and craftsmanship. Architecture, design & art are languages that can evoke emotional perceptions like harmony, creativity, happiness, beauty, poetry, complexity, humour, provocation, culture, magic, madness and many more.

There are countless strategies to successfully develop architecture. Drawing on years of experience, I found the following guidelines quite helpful:

• Ideas are essential, but understanding how to construct & realize them holds the real power

• Systematic management and proper sequencing are key for successful projects

• Anticipate the risks of a project and make them key parameters for the design

• Make sure you fully comprehend the project assignment & that you have all the tools to complete it

• Resources are precious

• Nothing can be taken for granted
