ARENA Wien is a cooperative competition design with an overall hornbeam topiary facade. While offering a spacious sports venue for the people of Vienna, the design offers a generous habitat for urban biodiversity at the same time. 

This innovative facade typology does not require any watering system, acts as a passive cooling device for the building in the summertime. The living architecture concept completely changes the appearance of the arena over the seasons and performs as a naturally metamorphosing sculpture in the urban context.
